What Premium changes

Spotify combines a large music catalog with playlists, artist pages and personalized recommendations. Premium adds control over music playback, removes music advertisements and allows eligible content to be downloaded for listening without a connection. Free access remains a separate option with its own limits.

Build playlists around an activity, save albums to your library or explore recommendations based on your listening. Podcast and audiobook access can have different conditions from music, so check the selected plan rather than assuming everything is unlimited.

A plan for the people listening

Individual, Student, Duo and Family offers address different circumstances. Household plans have eligibility and address requirements, and discounted student access requires verification. Each eligible account can maintain its own library and recommendations.

Test the service on your phone and the speakers you actually use. A good comparison includes finding specific songs, moving playback between compatible devices and downloading a playlist before leaving home.

Promotions and recurring costs

Introductory Premium offers are normally restricted by account history and the offer’s specific conditions. Promotional duration and expiration dates change; the official signup page is the place to confirm the offer available to you.

Check the recurring amount after the promotion, the billing interval and the date of the first payment. Adding payment details to an eligible trial can start automatic renewal unless you cancel under the displayed terms.

Start with your own favorites

Open the official US Premium page, compare the plans and sign in to the account you want to keep. Review eligibility before selecting a subscription.

Install or update Spotify, save your favorite artists and create a short test playlist. Download it over Wi-Fi and check offline playback. Subscription settings show your plan and billing details so you can review them before renewal.
